Ulysses Lewis Obituary
On Sunday, May 24, 2026, our blessed Father called Ulysses Alonza Lewis to his heavenly home. He was born on June 10, 1981, in Dallas County. He was affectionately called Lewis by most people that knew him. Ulysses confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at Rhodes Chapel C.P. Church. He also attended Selma High School.
Ulysses worked at Summerlin Brothers Paint Contractors, Capitol Chevrolet, Auto Beauty Shop and Dickerson Home Improvement and Construction Company. Ulysses was a good handy man and good at everything he did; whether it was washing cars, doing home improvements, artistically drawing pictures, or yard work. You might be driving by and catch him barbecuing or just in need of a friendly conversation from time to time. Working as a mechanic is what he loved to do, and Ulysses wouldn’t hold anything back. Yes, he was very loud but one thing unique about him was he always remained himself; he never changed for anyone. He was known to be a good listener, courteous, respectful, confident, empathetic and loved to eat. He was just a loveable person to be around.
Ulysses transitioned peacefully from this life. He was preceded in death by one brother: Alexandro Reginald Lewis; Grandparents: Ruth Elizabeth Thomas and Pearl O. Thomas; Six Aunts: Jennifer McNeal, Theresa Lewis, Dorothy King, Mary Scott, Savanna Oliver, and Annie Mae Henderson; Five Uncles: Charlie James Lewis, James King, Joseph Henderson, Timothy King, and William Earl King.
Ulysses leaves his precious cherished memories to two daughters: A’Leesiah M.S. Lewis, U’llyriah J.A. Lewis of Montgomery, AL; A loving mother: Anita Lewis Mitchell of Montgomery, AL; Two sisters: Samantha (Nathaniel) Mitchell and Victoria (Marqus) Jones of Montgomery, AL; Special aunts: Bessie Mae King, Lorene King, Rose Mary King, JoAnne Lewis, and Shelia Mitchell of Selma, AL; Three Uncles; Walter Hale of Selma, AL, John King of Mobile, AL and Winston Lewis of Boston, MA; Special significant other: Shannon Jackson; Special supportive friends: Jessica McNeal, Kristen McNeal, and Maria McNeal of Selma, AL; Close friends, Norman and Berry; God mothers: Audrey, Earlene, and Vicie Larkin and Family, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life has been scheduled for Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 2:00PM from the Aubrey Larkin's Lewis Brothers Funeral Home Chapel with Aubrey Larkin's Lewis Brothers Funeral Home of Selma, AL serving with excellence through professional service.
