Tommy was born May 30, 1946, to the late Monroe and Emma Lee Small in Dallas County, Alabama. He confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Friendship Baptist Church, Minter, Alabama, where he served as a faithful member and Trustee until recently, when his health declined. He departed this life on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 12:32 p.m. at Baptist South Hospital in Montgomery, Alabama, surrounded by loved ones.
Tommy was active in the community and loved his family dearly. He was also a dedicated entrepreneur and founder and proprietor of Small Auto Sales.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to Ms. Lois Watters on September 23, 1995.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his devoted and loving wife of thirty years: Lois Small, Selma, AL; five sons: Ricky (Margaret) Small, of Gordonville, AL, Eric Small of Sardis, AL., LaReico Small, of Selma, AL., Jason Crum, of Selma, AL., Raymond King, of Birmingham, AL.; one god-daughter, Jasmine Carmichael; one brother; Douglas (Minerva) Small, of Deland, FL.; one adopted brother; Joseph Walton, of Selma, AL.; Sister in-laws, Margaret (George)Fails, Selma, AL., Gloria Sanders, Birmingham, AL., Jacqueline (George) Holloway, Birmingham, AL., Awanda Watters, Birmingham, AL., Brother-in-Laws, Elberd Hall, Minter, AL., Nelson (Debra) Watters, Selma, AL., Lee (Sherry) Watters, Theopolis Watters, Selma, AL, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, and nieces. A special friend, Jesse Snow, of Minter, AL., and a special niece, Makarley (Sugar-Boo) Watters.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Monroe and Emma Lee Small; two sisters, Eloise Stallworth and Mildred Hall; and three brothers, Clarence Small, Robert Small, and Charlie Small.
Funeral services have been scheduled for Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 12 Noon from the Friendship Baptist Church in Minter, AL. Burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery with Aubrey Larkin's Lewis Brothers Funeral Home serving with excellence through professional service.
