Tomekia was born July 1, 1977 in Selma, AL to Myrline Barnes and Gary Martin. She moved to Cleveland, OH during her freshman year of high school and attended Brush High School in South Euclid, OH.
A devoted daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend, she was known for her strong work ethic and warm spirit. Tomekia worked for the City of Cleveland and Wendy’s.
Tomekia was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Willie and Fannie Tyus, paternal grandparents Jesse and Fannie Martin, and her brother Willie Barnes, Jr.
Tomekia’s memories will forever be cherished by her mother Myline (Willie) Barnes and her father Gary Martin, brother Tavaris (Kenetha), sisters Leshaundria (Mike) Holmes Smith and Heather (Brandon) Torber. Nieces and nephews Tavarus “TJ” Martin, Jr., Trevor “Bam-Bam” Martin, Keenen (Dakyla), Anthony, Braylon “Ray-Ray”, Brandon, Jr., Morgan Smith, and Alison Smith and a host of aunties, uncles, and cousins.
Her God-children; Karmaria, Ah’milah, Braddy “Mama”, Anton, Antonajha “Poona” Munns, Carstyn “CC” Thompson, and more.
Funeral services have been scheduled for Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 12 Noon from the Good Hope Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery with Aubrey Larkin's Lewis Brothers Funeral Home serving with excellence through professional service.
