Timothy Derrell Talton, Sr. was born on November 16, 1983, in Selma, Alabama, to the late J.C. Talton and Susie Creola Bates, making him the fifth child born to this union. He spent his early years in Jones, Alabama, where he attended school in the Dallas County School System. Timothy graduated from Dallas County High School in 2002. He earned an associate degree in Welding from Wallace Community College in Selma, Alabama, in 2004. He established and refined welding programs in Bullock, Wilcox, and Choctaw Counties and Selma City, leading him to a rewarding career as a Career and Technical Educator. For seven years, he served as the Welding Instructor for Selma High School, showcasing his remarkable talents and dedication to teaching. 

From a young age, Timothy embraced his faith in Christ, becoming a devoted member of Greater Mallard Chapel A.M.E. Church in Autaugaville, Alabama. His spiritual path was profoundly influenced by Pastor Isiah Perry, whose guidance was invaluable during his formative years. At the time of his passing, he was under the compassionate leadership of Elder Sylvia Ware at Holy Assembly of Jesus in Wetumpka, Alabama. 

Timothy was blessed with a loving family. He was preceded in death by his father, J.C. Talton, his mother, Susie Creola Bates, and his brother, Jesse Talton. 

In 2018, Timothy was joined in holy matrimony to Shawanda Sturdivant. They enjoyed seven beautiful years of marriage together. They welcomed two wonderful children, Hannah-Grace and Timothy Talton Jr. He also leaves behind cherished memories of three additional children—Kamora Talton, Kourtney Talton, and Timothy Talton—as well as two stepchildren, Chaquencia Sturdivant and Xavier Wilson. His legacy continues with two grandchildren, Payton Watkins and Xavier Wilson, Jr. 

Timothy is fondly remembered by his 13 siblings: Michael (Shelia) Howard, Mobile, AL, James Howard, Mobile, AL, William (Theresa) Howard, Mobile, AL, David (Keisha) Talton, Selma, AL, Roderick (Auwdrenette) Talton, Selma, AL, J.C. Talton Jr., Atlanta, GA, Gloria Jones, Valley Grande, AL, Jessica Talton, Jones, AL, Jenobia Talton, Selma, AL, Mary Smith, Grand Rapids, MI, Renae Smith, Grand Rapids, MI, Sally Lathridge, Riverdale, GA, and Shirley Carter, Selma, AL. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, colleagues, and students who loved him and will miss him dearly. 

Mr. Timothy D. Talton, 41, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025.  Funeral services have been scheduled for Saturday, July 5, 2025 at 12 noon from the Selma High School Auditorium with Pastor Isaiah Perry, officiating. Burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Aubrey Larkin's Lewis Brothers Funeral Home serving with excellence through professional service.
