Mr. Silas Tate, Jr. was born May 2, 1949, in Selma, Alabama to the late Mr. and Mrs. Silas Tate, Sr. and Jennie Tate.
Mr. Silas Tate, Jr., confessed in Christ at an early age and joined the Wayman Chapel AME Church where he was a faithful member.
He departed this life on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma, Alabama.
Mr. Tate is preceded in death by his mother and father Mr. Silas Tate, Sr., and Mrs. Jennie Tate; two sisters: Ella Tate and Lilla Tate; two brothers: Jessie James Tate and Earnest Mims; three brothers-in-law: Henry Carter, Alvin Henderson, and Joe Savage; four nephews: Kirkpatrick Tate, Lorenzo Savage, Dixie Tate, and Herman Mims
Mr. Tate leaves to cherish his memories: A loving devoted family including one brother: Alfred (Loree) Mims; Four sisters: Ethel Sample, Mattie Savage, Alice Tate Henderson, and Susan (Frank) Crews. ten nephews, seven nieces, and a host of relatives and friends
Funeral services have been scheduled for Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 12:00PM from the Wayman Chapel AME Church. Interment will follow in the Summerfield Community Cemetery with Aubrey Larkin's Lewis Brothers Funeral Home serving with excellence through professional service.
Mr. Tate will lie in repose one hour prior to the funeral hour at the church.
