Seysako Toyozeta Sims Jenkins was born on November 6, 1956 to the late Mr. James Dupree and Ms. Rosa Mae Whatley-Sims. Seysako passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025, at the age of 68. Her warmth, infectious laughter, and boundless energy touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Seysako attended the Lutheran Academy, laying the foundation for a life marked by dedication and care. She found great joy in her vocation as a cook, sharing her culinary talents at beloved establishments including Tally Ho restaurant, St. James Hotel, and Taylor's Restaurant. In these roles, she not only nourished bodies but also fostered community and camaraderie through her joyous spirit and unwavering kindness.
Preceding her in death were her devoted husband, William H. Jenkins III; her cherished son, Timothy Wayne Jenkins; uncles, Jimmie T. Whatley and Herman Whatley; her beloved mother, Rosa Mae Whatley-Sims; and her father, James Dupree.
Left to honor her legacy are her loving children: Latonya (Eric) Moore, William H. Jenkins, IV, Nakisha (Robert) Jenkins, and Shonte Jenkins. She also leaves behind treasured grandchildren Devon Jenkins, Robert Moore, Ke'Hindi Moore, John Stoudemire, and Andrew Stoudemire.
Her memory is further cherished by her brother, Herman (Julia) Lee Sims, her nieces, Hermenia Sims and Lakiesha Sims, as well as her great-nephews, Herman (aka Timothy) Sims and Tyrin Koonce, and her great-niece, Jacqueline (aka McKenzie) Watson. Seysako's passing is mourned by a host of extended family members and special friends who will forever hold her dear in their hearts.
Private funeral services will be conducted at a later date, allowing her family and close friends to celebrate her life in an intimate gathering. In this time of reflection, may we all find comfort in the enduring love and laughter Seysako brought into our lives.
