Rutha “Kitty” Hackett  was born September 23, 1946.  She confessed Christ and united with Mt. Ararat Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend L.L. Ruffin and currently under the leadership of Revered Craig B. Scott.

Rutha moved to her new Heavenly address on December 18, 2025.

Preceding her in death: Mother-Emma Lee Marshall; grandmother: Cora B. Marshall; aunts: Julia B. Wilks and Mattie M. Marshall; uncles: John H. Marshall and Charlie Marshall, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memory, a loving husband of 39 years Rubie Hackett; daughters: Cassandra Page and Emma (Ladale) Carlisle; sons: Steven (Maureen) Marshall and Roderick (Trina) Marshall.  27 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 2 great-grand children; and two aunts: Cora (Vodie) Gaiter and Glenda Marshall, a special cousin Essie (Lee) Maxwell, and a host of relatives  

Funeral services have been scheduled for Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 12 Noon from the Mt. Ararat Missionary Baptist Church with the Reverend C.B. Scott, officiating.  Burial will follow in Serenity Memorial Gardens with Aubrey Larkin's Lewis Brothers Funeral Home serving with excellence through professional service.  Mrs. Hackett will lie in repose one hour prior to the funeral hour at the church.
