Roslyn Ann Miles of Sylacauga, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.   She was born on June7, 1951 to the late Mr. Grover Miles and Mrs. Arrie Pratt Miles.

“Such a sweet spirit”.  Roslyn was known for her gentle, sweet spirit—always willing to help for the good of the family, group, organization—wherever she felt she was needed.

She loved her family, her schools:  The East Highland High School , The East Highland School National Alumni Association (EHSNAA), The Alabama State University (ASU), and her church St. Thomas Methodist Church.  She served faithfully until her health failed. Although she was not able to speak during the last three years of life, she fought to communicate with her eyes.  Her eyes let us know she was still alive with love and joy, especially for her brother, Joe, her sister Lamerle, her cousin Edwina and her nephews.  Their faithfulness kept her light shining. Oh, what a sight it was to see her smile, that beautiful white hair and sparkling eyes—the eyes always spoke for her.

In dedication to the family, Roslyn returned home from Alabama State University to fulfil her dedication to the family by helping with her younger sister.  During that time, she was employed by the city of Sylacauga Recreation as Activities Coordinator.  In this capacity, she had the opportunity to touch the lives of so many children.

Roslyn was preceded in death by her father and mother:  Mr. Grover and Mrs. Arrie; 4 brothers (Groover, Jr, Robert, Clarence, and Lamar; two sisters: Vickie and Shirley.

Joining in this Celebration of Roslyn’s life and cherishing memories are beloved neighbors who resided on Cook Drive as well as other devoted family members (Joe, Lamerle, and Anthony).

Funeral services have been scheduled for Friday, May 8, 2026 at 11:00AM from the Community Funeral Home Chapel located at 511 Edgewood Drive, Sylacauga, AL 35150.  Burial will follow in the Sylacauga Cemetery with Aubrey Larkin's Lewis Brothers Funeral Home and Community Funeral Home serving with excellence through professional service.  Ms. Miles will have public viewing on Thursday, May 7, 2026 from 1:00PM-7:00PM at Community Funeral Home.
