Rosie Pearl Griffin, born on September 3, 1929, in Selma, Alabama, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2025, at the age of 95. Throughout her life, Rosie epitomized the virtues of love and devotion as a cherished housewife, touching the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Rosie is preceded in death by her beloved son Truman Griffin, daughter Annie Walker, parents Mr. and Mrs. Artheleus and Janie Fails, and siblings Ruthie Fails, Sadie Walker, Azzaline Coleman, Artheleus "Jr" Fails, and Estella Brown. Their memories remain cherished in her heart and in the hearts of those who survive her.
She leaves behind a legacy of love through her surviving children: Wilie Crosey, Steve Griffin, Jr., Odessa Lewis, Laura Langdon, Clarence Griffin, Thelma Griffin, Frederick Griffin, Rosie Grant, Larry Griffin, Horace Griffin, and Annie Perry. She is also survived by her sisters Ophelia Mason, Lizzie Holmens, Minnie Glover, Brenda Cole, Linda Moorer, and Ella Hall, along with a host of other relatives, friends, and community members who were touched by her warmth and kindness.
Rosie's gentle spirit and unwavering dedication to her family will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.
Funeral services have been scheduled for Friday, August 15, 2025 at 1:00PM from the East Salem Baptist Church of Sardis, AL with Reverend James Mitchell, officiating. Burial will follow in the Churchyard cemetery with Aubrey Larkin's Lewis Brothers Funeral Home serving with excellence through professional service. Ms. Griffin will lie in repose, at the church, an hour prior to the service.
