Mr. Robert Lee Reese, affectionately known as "Bubba" to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2025, at Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma, Alabama. Born on May 31, 1949, in Dallas County, Alabama, Bubba was a man whose life was characterized by the strength of his character, the warmth of his heart, and the depth of his devotion to his loved ones.

Bubba grew up in a loving family and was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Gus and Mary Reese, his brother Elbert Reese, and his daughter Paris Solomon. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his children, Monica Woods, Latoya Solomon, Labarry Solomon, and Joshua Solomon. Bubba's spirit is also carried on by his brother, Hilbert (Patsey) Reese; his sister, Mary (Alphonso) Cook; his brother, Gus (Austella) Reese; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends who were touched by his generosity and kindness.

A proud student of George C. Wallace Community College Selma, Bubba studied the art of brick masonry, a skill that he honed and utilized throughout the state of Alabama. His work stands as a testament to his dedication and craftsmanship. His early years were marked by his athletic achievements, having played football for RB Hudson High School, and he carried his passion for sports throughout his life as an avid fan of all sports.

Bubba's love for life was evident in his interests and the relationships he built over the years. His presence was a source of joy and laughter, and his influence was far-reaching. He was a man who took pleasure in the simple things, whether it was a well-executed play on the football field or the quiet satisfaction of completing a day's work to the best of his ability.

Special thanks and heartfelt appreciation are extended to Bernard Bennett, Mary Jane Martin, and Mary McCord, whose companionship and care added greatly to the quality of Bubba's life. Their presence was a comfort not only to him but also to all the members of his family.

Bubba will be remembered for his jovial nature, his unwavering support of his children, and the love he shared with everyone he knew. His stories, his laughter, and the wisdom he imparted will forever resonate with those who were fortunate enough to know him. He was a man who built more than just structures; he built a foundation of love, resilience, and joy in the lives of his family and friends.
