Robert Squire Jr was born November 11, 1953 to Robert and Minnie Lee Nelson Squire in Selma, Al at home. He attended Lutheran Academy and Selma Public Schools. He started work at an early age at the Selma Stock Yard. Robert was all ways an industrious person. He has worked all his life. In later years he hauled for SS&H Trucking and other trucking companies. In his early life he met and married Cindy Stewart and to this union two daughters were born, Shemika and Erika. Later he met and married Mary Shaw and to this union three boys were born Robert III, Christopher and Michael. He was baptized at Green Street MBC under the pastorate of Rev. C. A. Lett. And later moved his membership to Calvary MBC still under the pastorate of Rev C A Lett. He attended Sunday school and other activities of the church. Later as his health failed him, he began to remain at home and enjoy visits from his family and friends. Robert passed away at home surrounded by loving care givers.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dec. Robert Squire Sr. and Sis. Minnie Squire. Three sisters Maggie Shaw, Clara Hardy and Juanita Davis. And a brother James Davis Sr. He leaves to cherish in his memories a sister Yvonne (Al) Hatcher of Selma, AL and brother Rev. Bishop William (Ethel) Phillips of Goldsborough, NC; two daughters Shemeka and Erika Squire of Mobile, AL; three boys Robert Squire III of Davenport, IA, Christopher (Sherrena) Squire of Huntsville, AL and Michael (Teyonna) Squire of Nashville, TN; ten grandchildren , two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services have been scheduled for Thursday, August 7, 2025 at 11AM from the Aubrey Larkin's Lewis Brothers Chapel with Pastor Harry Allen of The Way Missionary Baptist Church, officiating.  Burial will follow in Serenity Memorial Gardens with Aubrey Larkin's Lewis Brothers Funeral Home serving with excellence through professional service.
