Nixon Goldsby was born April 7, 1955 to the late John Goldsby Sr. and Minnie Lee Goldsby in Marion Junction Alabama. Nick ,as we all called him, graduated from Keith high school in Selma AL (1974). He held various jobs including driving school buses, Pepsi cola, and McDonalds. He later moved to Chicago where he worked for Sunfare Medicare Services transporting patients to and from their doctors appointments. This is where he met Flora, the woman who later became his wife of 47yrs. Nick’s other jobs included managing G.O., and 30 E Elm Condominium Association, where he continued for 38 years before retiring in 2019 . Nick was well loved by so many and would go out of his way to help anyone in need. Nick was a kind and loving man who left large shoes to fill. We love Nick and we will always hold you close in our hearts forever and ever.
He was preceded in death by his sister Mamie Lee Goldsby, and brothers James Goldsby and Jimmie Lee Goldsby. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife Flora , daughter Marionnah, three brothers John Jr. (Francis) Lee Henry (Lula) and Jeremiah(Faye).Two sisters Marie and Lillie(Ernest). Mother in law Josephine, sisters in law Olympia, Kim, Sandra, and Lisa, Tracy and Darlene. Brothers in law Clarence, Gerard, and Michael, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many, many friends.
Funeral services have been scheduled for Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 2:00pm from the Aubrey Larkin's Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in the Macedonia Baptist Church with Aubrey Larkin's Lewis Brothers Funeral Home serving with excellence through professional service.
