Mr. McArthur Golston's Obituary Program Link
McArthur Curtis Golston, aged 78, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2025. Born on September 5, 1946, in Selma, Alabama, McArthur was a beacon of strength and love to all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, McArthur and Carrie Golston, and his brother, Will Golston.
McArthur's life was one of service and dedication. He proudly served his country as a US Army Vietnam Veteran, a chapter of his life that shaped his character and values. After his military service, he committed many years as a devoted employee to Honda Al Lock Selma, where he was known for his reliability and strong work ethic. McArthur's love for his job was second only to the love he had for his family.
He leaves behind a legacy through his beloved children, Traca Golston and Devontrius Wilkerson. McArthur was a loving, caring, and devoted father, and his guidance and wisdom will live on through them. His grandchildren, Nicholas, Farrah, Victoreia, and Kaylin King, will miss their grandfather's boundless support and the joy he brought to their lives. McArthur was also blessed to see the birth of his great-grandchildren, Nakiya, Kyrie, Kylan, Kali King, LaVelli Thompson, and Avanni Foster, who brought him immense joy in his later years.
Family was the cornerstone of McArthur's life, and he also leaves behind his cherished cousins, Patricia Anthony and Mary Sue Goodwin. Each family gathering was brightened by his presence and the stories he would share. McArthur's special companion, Mary Ann Mixon, was a source of comfort and companionship, and their bond was one of mutual respect and affection.
McArthur's interests and passions were many, but none more so than his unwavering support for the Alabama Crimson Tide. He was a fan through and through, and his enthusiasm for his team was infectious. McArthur's love for life extended to the simple pleasures, such as enjoying a good meal, sharing a laugh with friends, or offering a helping hand to those in need.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the VA Nurses Elizabeth and Destiny, as well as the staff at Diversicare of Marion, for their compassionate care and support during McArthur's final days. Their kindness and professionalism provided comfort to McArthur and his family during a difficult time.
McArthur's life was one of honor, courage, and kindness. He touched the lives of many and will be remembered for his warm smile, his generous spirit, and his unwavering integrity. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by those who loved him.
As we bid farewell to McArthur Curtis Golston, we celebrate a life well-lived and a man well-loved. His spirit will continue to guide us, and his memory will forever be etched in our hearts. McArthur's journey on earth has ended, but his story will continue to be told by those who were fortunate enough to know him.
