Lois Mary Caver, a cherished matriarch and beloved friend, passed away peacefully at her residence on March 31, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on July 1, 1937, in Collirene, Alabama, to Mr. & Mrs. Feb and Kate Lewis. She lived a life full of warmth and kindness, touching the hearts of all who crossed her path.
From a young age, Lois embraced the value of hard work and dedication. At just 15, she began her career at Selma Steam Laundry, where she not only contributed to the community but also built enduring friendships that enriched her life. Her unwavering commitment and genuine spirit made her a treasured friend and an inspiring presence within the workplace.
Lois was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Lee Caver, as well as her parents, Feb and Kate Lewis, her brother Roger Duncan, and her sister Gladys Duncan. Her legacy lives on through her devoted children: Willie (Pat) Lewis, Willie (Sandra) Anderson, Mark Caver, Onetta Lewis, Rodney Caver, and Emma (Thaddeus) Ellis. She was a proud grandmother to 14 grandchildren and a loving great-grandmother to 19 great-grandchildren. Her family also included a beloved godson, DaKairi Carmichael.
In her journey through life, Lois exemplified love, resilience, and compassion. Her family and friends will forever cherish the moments shared with her, drawing inspiration from her strength and grace. A very special thank you goes to Jackie Molette for her unwavering support and kindness.
Funeral services have been scheduled for Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 1:00PM from the Aubrey Larkin's Lewis Brothers Funeral Home Chapel with the Minister Willie Seal Lewis, officiating. Burial will follow in the Lorenzo Harrison Memorial Gardens with Aubrey Larkin's Lewis Brothers Funeral Home serving with excellence through professional service. A full obituary will be published at a later date.
