Latisha Valnetra Perkins, 50, was born on May 13th, 1975, in Selma, AL. She made her heavenly transition on December 31st, 2025. Latisha was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at an early age.
Latisha attended Selma and Montgomery Public Schools. She enjoyed participating in Special Olympics and won medals in the track division. Later in life, she had the opportunity to train in the Easter Seals Programs of Montgomery and gained valuable career skills.
As an employee of the Cahaba Center’s Day Program, her love and passion for her job was apparent. As a result, she was beloved by staff and clientele for her loving, friendly, and giving spirit. Because Christ was the center of her life, Latisha faithfully attended weekly bible study and would eagerly share her biblical knowledge with her Cahaba co-workers and friends.
Latisha loved and truly cherished her family and was present at every moment and milestone. She was known for remembering everyone’s birthday!
She leaves to cherish her memories, her parents, Paul and Rosemary Perkins (Montgomery, AL), sisters, Carlette West (Selma, AL) and Kristy Johnson (Montgomery, AL), brother, Nathaniel Johnson (Selma, AL), uncles, Minister Tyrone DuBose (Debra) (Lubbock, TX) and Charles “Bo” Johnson (Boston, MA), aunts, Virginia Gail Robinson (Kenneth Sr.) (Detroit, MI), Deborah DuBose Watkins and Gloria DuBose Johnson (Montgomery, AL), special cousins, Cheris Edmonds (Atlanta, GA) and Sandra Johnson Thompson (Jacques) (Helena, AL), and a host of nieces, a nephew, cousins, and extended family and friends.
