Jennifer Evette Wright, a woman whose life was colorful and dynamic, passed away on October 17, 2025, at the age of 53. Born on July 26, 1972, to the late Johnny and Louise Wright, Jennifer graced this world with her presence and left it a little brighter.
Her early years were spent navigating the hallowed halls of Selma City Schools and later, Wilcox County High School. It was here that Jennifer's love affair with computers began—a romance that would lead to multiple online degrees in Computer Information Systems and Business Education. Her prowess with technology was legendary, though she always maintained that her true talent lay in making her friends laugh.
Jennifer's entrepreneurial spirit led her to establish her own business, where she combined her love for creating music and videos into a harmonious symphony of success. Those who knew her can attest to her ability to turn a simple idea into a masterpiece.
She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Greater St. Paul Baptist Church, where she found joy and community.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Johnny and Louise Wright; her brother, Johnnie L. Wright; and her nephew, Donte Shelton. She is survived by a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her children Ollion (Lisa) Wright, Iesha Wright, Terra Wright, Myrical Wright, and Malik Wright; her grandchildren Kayden Pettway, Anaisha Murphy, Ra’Miyah Robinson, Tar’Laysa Robinson, Essence Wright, Egypt Wright, Mavian Ebanks, and Dynasty Medina.
Her siblings Billy Wright, Jerry (Anishika) Wright, Gregory Wright, Lena (Michael) Dickerson, Gwendolyn Shelton, Ella (Timothy) Fields, and Stacey (James) Jones will carry on her legacy of wit and wisdom. Jennifer also leaves behind her cherished friend Mrs. Pat, her loving Godmother Mrs. Joanne Agee, and her devoted Godparents Hank and Rose Sanders, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, loved ones, and friends who will miss her dearly.
