Jacqueline D. Walton-Cole,48, born on August 13, 1976, in Selma, Alabama to Ms. Olivia Walton and Mr. Joseph Williams, Sr. She peacefully departed this life on April 2, 2025, at the age of 48. Jacqueline was a devoted and loving mother to her two beloved children, always prioritizing their needs and nurturing them with endless love and care.
A proud 1995 graduate of Selma High School, Jacqueline cherished her time there and carried the spirit and lessons learned throughout her life. Her legacy continues through her children, Shawn N. Cole and Kirsten T. Cole, both of Selma, Alabama, who were the pride and joy of her life.
She shared a devoted partnership of 29 years with Timothy Cole of Selma, AL, who stood by her side through all of life's challenges and triumphs. Jacqueline is also survived by her loving family: her mother, Oliva Walton of Selma, AL; brothers Derrick (Rekeshia) Walton, Joseph (Christine) Williams, Jr., Kenneth (Vonda) Wilmer, Jerome (Dorothy) Williams, and Daniel (Danielle) Williams; sisters Sandra (Dereke) Williams Furlow, Josephine (Duane) Givan, and Deborah Albert.
Her extended family includes aunts Lorene Walton, Alma Jean Oliver, Helen Oliver, and Nadine Walton; uncles Calvin (Vickie) Walton, Dewayne (Sandrika) Matthew, Arthur J. Walton, Jerry Weaver, and James (Viola) Oliver. She is also remembered fondly by her step-father Christopher Moore.
Jacqueline held a special bond with her cousins Anthony Starks, James Edward Walton, Teresa L. Walton, Calvin Jerome (Dorothy) Starks, Christopher Walton, Trinity Smith, Tamia Smith, and Serenthia Walton, who was both a cousin and a dear friend.
Her life was enriched by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives who will forever cherish her memory.
Preceding her in death are her father, Joseph Williams, Sr.; grandmother, Catherine Walton; uncle, Willie Walton; cousin, Shameka Walton; aunts Ruth Oliver, Gloria Oliver, Rosetta Oliver; Shirley Ann Cole, and A.J. Anderson.
Jacqueline's warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those she loved, and her presence will be deeply felt forevermore.
Funeral services have been scheduled for Saturday, April 12, 2025 from the Mt. Zion Baptist Church at 2:00PM where Reverend Robert Simmons is pastor and Pastor Jimmie Coleman, officiating. Burial will follow in the Lincoln Cemetery with Aubrey Larkin's Lewis Brothers Funeral Home serving with excellence through professional service.
