Jacqueline (Jackie) Louise Craig passed away peacefully on July 19th, 2025.
Jackie was born on July 12th, 1928 in Denver, Colorado to parents Harold and Maude Packer. As the only daughter of five children, she helped to care for her brothers Howard, Harold II, Orville, and Clifford.
Jackie accepted God and Jesus Christ at a young age and was a member of Zion Baptist Church. She graduated from Manual High School, where she ran track, and later attended Selma University in Alabama. She met and fell in love with Lorenzo (Lo) Craig. The two got married, marking the start of a more than 50-year union that led to five children – Lorenzo Jr. (Meldina), Sherald, Michael (Kathleen), Earnest (Robin), and Marvin (Sandy).
Jackie had a passion for taking care of family. She was a stay-at-home mom until all her children were of school age. Jackie later enjoyed a career with Alabama’s health department, and was an active member of Green Street Baptist Church and later Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Jackie’s hobbies included traveling, spending time with family, singing in church, and community involvement. She often spent time in Denver during the month of July to celebrate her and her mother’s birthdays. Her favorite colors were white and pink, and she was always elegantly dressed. Jackie’s proudest achievement was that all her children earned college degrees.
Her family will forever remember her empathy, welcoming spirit, compassion, and sophisticated fashion. She is preceded in death by her parents Harold and Maude Packer, husband Lorenzo, brothers, and daughter-in-law Kathleen.
Funeral services have been scheduled for Thursday, July 31, 2025 at 1:00PM from Tabernacle Baptist Church with the Reverend Otis Culliver, officiating. Burial will follow in the Eagle Grove Baptist Churchyard Cemetery with Aubrey Larkin's Lewis Brothers Funeral Home serving with excellence through professional service.
