JaKaleb Avion Norris, a beloved son, brother, grandson, and friend, passed away on June 29, 2025, at the age of 15. JaKaleb was born to Ms. Kadasha Norris and Mr. Ellis D. Walter on March 23, 2010.
JaKaleb was a fun-loving teenager who cherished his family deeply. He was a student at Dallas County High School, where he made many friends and was known for his warm smile. Though his time with us was short, he touched the lives of those around him with his love and exuberating spirit.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Kadasha Norris; his aunt, Cynthia Craig; his great-grandmothers, Ms. Velma Craig, Ms. Bessie Ross, and Mrs. Velma Fields; his uncle, Lester Craig; cousins Auterrious "Bug" Walter, LeDarion Craig, DonShon McCants; his grandfather Dexter Fields, Sr.; and his great-aunt Evangelist Lille Fields Hall.
JaKaleb's memory will forever be cherished by his father, Ellis D. Walter; his grandmothers, Felecia Fields and Angela Ross; his grandfather, Ellis Walter; his siblings, Jakobi Norris, JaKori Norris, JaKadien Norris, Tedric White, Ellis Walter, and Logan Walter; his sisters, Aulysha Walter, Alisha Walter, and Aleesia Walter; his aunts, Kadeidra Fields, Chyna Walter, Calizza "Jerel" Sample, and Thelma Towns; his uncles, Dextario Fields, Dexter (Rodrica) Fields, Jr., and Keyshawn Ford; his great-grandmother Hannah (Edward) Grayo; his great-grandfather Willie Fields; his great-aunts Felecia Jenkins, Angela Fields, Charlene Bevel-El, Darlene (Darnell) Penn, Syprenia (Gerald) Poche; his great uncles Timothy (Ella) Fields and Willie Bennett; his great-great-uncles Reginald (Shirley) Hartley and John Hartley. His bonus aunt Kryshell McNeil. He also leaves a host of cousins and friends.
JaKaleb also leaves behind several special friends who meant the world to him: Jaliah Williams, Jerel Sample, Jadarius Savage, Octavian White, Amarius Chandler, Stephana Houston, Javian Perry, Jaideon Smith, and Edvan Marshall.
Funeral services have been scheduled for Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 1:00 pm from the Ellwood Community Church with Bishop Reginald Wells, officiating. Burial will follow in the Serenity Memorial Gardens with Aubrey Larkin's Lewis Brothers Funeral Home serving with excellence through professional service.
