Mrs. Frances Allison, born on August 26, 1939, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2025, at the age of 85. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was marked by devotion to her family and faith.
Frances attended Street Manual Training School, now known as Emmanuel Brown Training School. Following a dedicated career spanning 30 years in various sewing factories, she retired in 2001 from American Apparel. Her colleagues remember her as a diligent and committed worker, always striving to bring her best self to every role she undertook.
Beyond her professional life, Frances was a faithful member of Mt. Olive #2 Baptist Church, where she served in several ministries with dedication until her health no longer allowed her to participate. Her contributions to her community and church were numerous and deeply appreciated by all who knew her.
Frances is preceded in death by her parents, Guss and Pennsylvania Smith; her brothers, James, Jerry, Guss Jr., and Timothy Smith; her sisters, Mandy Clark and Bobbie Carter; and her daughter, Barbara A. Brown. Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 67 years, Jerry Allison, and their children: Geraldine A. (Charles) Pettway, Meldina A. (Gary) Morgan, and Robert (Mary) Allison. Her devoted son-in-law, Jerry (Christine) Brown Sr., also survives her. Frances was a cherished grandmother to Robert Latrell Allison, Vonn Pettway, Shannon Pettway (Brian) Moore, Jessica Allison (Kedric) Moore, Jerry Brown, Jr., and Joshua Allison, and a proud great-grandmother to Caden Allison and Daniel Kai Moore. Her sisters, Judy Bell Smith and Pennsylvania Garrett, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives, will forever hold her memory dear.
Funeral services have been scheduled for Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 2:00PM from Mount Olive #2 Baptist Church with the Reverend Rodney Morton, officiating.
