Ethel Mae Heard, born on July 5, 1958, in Perry County, Alabama, peacefully departed this life on January 22, 2026, at the age of 67. She was the beloved daughter of the late Gertrude Johnson Alexander and George William Alexander.
Ethel began her Christian journey as a member of the Marietta AME Zion Church, where she nurtured her faith and found a spiritual home. Her devotion to her faith and family was evident throughout her life.
She is preceded in death by her loving parents, her cherished sons Andre Heard and Caleb Heard, her dear sisters Shellie Ann Rhodes, Flora Alexander, and Clorie Sanders, and her brothers Lawrence Alexander, Lee Alexander, and Lumber Junior Alexander.
Ethel's memory will be forever cherished by her surviving family, including her devoted son Amos Heard, her brothers William Lee Alexander and Willie David "WD" Alexander, and her sister Mary Alexander. She also leave a special daughter in law Dolly McNeal and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
Funeral services have been scheduled for Friday, January 30, 2026 at 1:00pm from the Aubrey Larkin's Lewis Brothers Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Anita Wright, officiating. Burial will follow in the Lincoln Cemetery with Aubrey Larkin's Lewis Brothers Funeral Home serving with excellence through professional service.
