Dominic Jerome Small, affectionately known as "ROME", was born on September 27, 1964, to the late Willie and Mattie Small in Minter, AL. He departed this life to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Baptist South Hospital in Montgomery, AL.
Rome joined Christ at an early age and became a member of Friendship Baptist Church until his health failed. Rome was a graduate of Southside High School Class of 1982. He devoted many years of service to construction work, where he worked as a Crane Operator.
Rome was preceded in death by his parents Willie and Mattie Small, sister Linda Garrett, and brother Larry Snow.
Rome leaves to cherish his memories: his baby girl Ashton (Javar Jackson) Small-Jackson of Callaway, FL; a loving son Demarlo Rivers of Selma, AL; Two grandchildren Cam'Ron Rivers and JaVeir Jackson; Five sisters Ella Mae (Carl) Daniels of Selma, AL, Willie Lois Mills of Detroit, MI, Brenda Williams of Los Angeles, CA, Dora Powell of Copperas Cove, TX, and Deloris Snow of Racine, WI; Four brothers John (Rosie) Small of Selma, AL, Jerry Small of LIttle Rock, AR, Curley Snow and Donnie Snow both of Racine, WI. A host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Funeral services have been scheduled for Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 12 Noon from the Friendship Baptist Church of Minter, AL. Burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery with Aubrey Larkin's Lewis Brothers Funeral Home serving with through professional service.
