Dennis Lee Gamble III, affectionately known as “Duck Duck” by his family and friends, was born on May 23, 2005, in Selma, Alabama, to Keisha West and Dennis Lee Gamble Jr. Dennis peacefully departed this life far too soon on May 17, 2026, in Selma, Alabama. He was a loving son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, friend, and companion who was known throughout his community for his warm spirit, his infectious smile, and the pure joy he brought to those around him. Dennis grew up with a deep love for the outdoors, where he felt most at peace. Whether he was around animals, working on cars, fishing, playing video games, showcasing his immense passion for rebuilding vehicles, or simply enjoying time with his family, friends, and his beloved dog, Bama, those were the things that brought him true happiness. He also shared his hard work and dedication with his colleagues at Eovations, LLC. He was a caring, free-spirited individual who had a beautiful way of making people smile and leaving lasting memories with everyone who crossed his path.
Dennis leaves behind a vast circle of family, friends, and loved ones who will forever miss his voice, his smile, and the light he brought into their lives. Although his time with us was far too short, the impact he made will never fade. The love he shared, the lessons he taught, and the memories he created will continue to live on through all who were blessed to know him. Dennis will truly and deeply be missed, loved always, and remembered forever.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Alice Martin “Bigmama” West; his great-grandfather, Lonzy West Sr.; his grandmother, Gloria Jean Gamble, his aunts & uncles Jewel Newsom, Mary Lean Boykin, Clarie Gamble, Ruth Maderia Gamble, Dorothy Mae Boykin Gamble, Estella Boykin, Romuse Lee Gamble, Frazier Gamble, Collin Gamble, Windell Gamble, Clarence Boykin, Tommy Boykin Sr, Larry Boykin, Charles Boykin, Linda Hamilton and Diane West; and loved ones Jason Maul, Bernistine Gordon, Darryl Hollowman, Ruth Hollowman, Michael Gordon.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory his parents, Keisha West and Dennis Gamble Jr.; his grandfathers, Carl (Hattie) West Sr. and Dennis Gamble Sr.; his siblings, Irvin West, Alexus West, Kewansis Bryant West, Keshayia West, Markeisha Pritchett, Mackenzie Pritchett, Marcus Pritchett, and Arie Tyus. His legacy will also live on through his cherished nieces and nephews, Legend West, Loyal West, Lavish West, Kason Smith, Khloe West, and Tessnie Booker.
He will be lovingly remembered by his aunts and uncles, Carlette West, Carla “Suave” West, Alicia Taylor, Chrishanda West, Carl (Danielle) West, Alice West, Heather West, Alison Nicole Gamble, and Brianna (Anthony) Gamble Kennedy; his honorary aunts, Cora Kennedy, Carolyn Kennedy, Rowena West, and Dominik (Taiwan) West Levert; and his special friends, Kenterrious Webster, Leondrevion Holmes, Steven Kennedy, Deandre Kennedy, and Kentarvious White.
He is further survived and affectionately remembered by his great-aunts and great-uncles: Henry Joe (Lillie) Gamble, Jessie (Gertrude) Gamble, Rev. Fred (Patricia) Gamble, Mary (Fabian) Hester, Pearline (Robert) Saulsberry, Kim (Clarence) Lee, Alversa (Jessie) Ross, B.J. (Stephanie) Boykin, Hattie Boykin, Clara Bell Boykin, Lee Carl (Antonia) Boykin, Willie James (Patricia) Boykin, Rosetta (Ernest) Anderson, Mary Thompson, Lonzy West Sr., Nella (Don) Walker, Alice (Harry) Wooten, Juliette Smith, Rachel (Aaron) West Milhouse, Roderick West Sr., Mark (Cynthia) West Sr., and Bonnie (Lorenzo) Courtland, along with a host of extended family members from both the West and Gamble families.
He also leaves a lifetime of memories with a host of loving cousins, including Ki’Yiah West, Caleb West, Kaven Johnson, Camoriey Hatcher, Corionna Hatcher, Jaida Campbell, Kenli’ Smith, Ja’Kylie West, Kayden West, Kaitlyn West, Darryl Kennedy Jr., Dazone Smith Jr. (also known as DJ), Cameron West, Karl West, Carleigh West, Carniyah West, Jason Saulsberry, Lionel Saulsberry, Kelser Saulsberry, Tonya Boykin, Treasure Boykin, Ciera Boykin.
He will be dearly missed by his special cousins: Sharon Gordon, Marcus Maul, Richard Jones, Kobe Tolbert, Kyla Tolbert, Autumn Jones, Devin Williams, & Atavius Gathers (Lil Man).
Dennis also leaves behind his girlfriend, Wilma Walker.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 1:00PM from the Gospel Tabernacle Church of God in Christ with Pastor John Grayson, officiating and interment following in Serenity Memorial Gardens with Aubrey Larkin's Lewis Brothers Funeral Home of Selma serving with excellence through professional service.
