Demetrius Jeremiah McGhee was born on November 05, 1986, in Selma, Alabama, to Henry Crawford, Jr. and Shirley McGhee Sullivan. He was also known as MeMe, Dee, or Meat. He graduated from Central Christian Academy and later attended Miles College to play football. He was very hardworking and talented at many different things. He had a deep passion for drawing and restoring old school cars. Demetrius was a fun-loving father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He is known for his contagious smile, and loving, positive attitude. He will be TRULY missed.
Demetrius is preceded in death by his mother; Shirley McGhee Sullivan , stepfather Jesse James Sullivan, Grandfathers, Andy C. McGhee Sr. & Henry Crawford Sr., his aunt; Marie McCurdy; his uncles; Willie Peeples, and Randolph Crawford.
Demetrius is survived by his father, Henry Crawford, Jr.(Jennifer) His maternal Grandmother Lorene McGhee and his aunt Belinda Gilchirst (Lorenzo) who both served as faithful mother figures; His paternal grandmother Nancy Crawford; his children, Jeremiah Copeland, Tyanna “Ty” Caudle, Noah McGhee, Roman McGhee, and Lorenzo McGhee, his brothers, Henry Stallworth (Tiffany), Derrick McGhee (Latoya),his sisters, Lucritia McGhee, Salina Thornton (Daniel), Charryse Thomas (Dashawn ), and Shareka Marshall; his aunts, Dorothy Marzette, Joyce Peeples, Etta Crawford, Judy Crawford, Carolyn Crawford, Betty Callen, and Gloria Crawford; his uncles, Andrew McGhee, Michael McGhee, Ceasar McGhee, Sherman McGhee, Johnny Crawford, Ronnie Crawford, McArthur Crawford; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services have been scheduled for Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 11:00AM from the Plantersville Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery with Aubrey Larkin's Lewis Brothers Funeral Home serving with excellence through professional service. Mr. McGhee will lie in repose one hour prior to the funeral hour at the church.
