Mr. Brian Emanuel Dozier was born to Rev. Dr. Bruce O. Dozier, Sr. and Mrs. Catherine Bell Dozier in Selma, AL on December 22, 1982. Brian was preceded in death by his loving and devoted mother, Mrs. Catherine Bell Dozier, his maternal grandparents, Mrs. Kattie Williams Bell, and Mr. Jimmy Bell, his paternal grandparents, Mrs. Jessie Shepherd Dozier and Mr. James Dozier, his precious niece Kaitlin Ariel Dozier, two very special aunts, Gwendolyn Bell Bettis and Bessie Mae Mims, and an uncle, Charles Williams. His 11 paternal aunts and uncles also preceded him in death.
Brian confessed Christ at an early age. He joined Oak Grove Church of Perry County. Brian was baptized at Old Oak Grove, where Rev. Kirk Ellison served as pastor and his father, Rev. Dr. Bruce O. Dozier, Sr. was the associate pastor. He later joined the Phillips Grove and Mount Zion churches. Brian attended church on a regular basis with his mother and father.
His early education began at Cedar Park Elementary. Afterwards, he attended Selma Chat Academy. After Selma Chat Academy, Brian matriculated to Selma High School, where Mrs. Eva Berry, Mrs. Viola Martin, and Mr. Curtis Wimberly were instrumental in his education. They also helped him to perfect his daily living skills. There were other educators who also played an important role in Brian's development.
He leaves to cherish his beautiful memory: a loving and devoted father, Rev. Dr. Bruce O. Dozier, Sr., a loving brother, Bruce O. Dozier, Jr., Hampton, GA; two loving sisters: Cathryn K. Dozier, Selma, AL, Candace J. Dozier, Lithonia, GA. Three children born to Bruce O. Dozier, Jr. and Latoya Hurst, two loving nieces, Kennedy I. Dozier, Kaleigh S. Dozier, one loving nephew, Bryce N. Dozier, four special adopted nephews, Kevonte’, Keonte’, Adrian, and Kayden, and their mother, Beverly Martin. He also leaves to cherish his memory several loving aunts: Lula (Jessie) King, Hyattsville, MD; Annie Mae (Sonny) Bell, Washington, D.C.; Silvery (Nelson) Richardson, Roxbury, MA; Christine (Calvin) Stanberry, Stone Mountain, GA; Dorothy (Roosevelt) Fincher, Tacoma Park, MD; Paula Harrison, Hyattsville, MD, and Uncle Richard Bell(Karen), Selma, AL. He also leaves the present wife of his father, LaTanglia Williams-Dozier and their daughter Madisyn Williams to cherish his memory. Brian leaves a host of other relatives, friends, and a very special friend, Ms. Jacqueline Walker, a lifelong friend of the family, and his teacher at Cedar Park Elementary, who always brought him love and many gifts.
Graveside services have been scheduled for Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 12PM from Serenity Memorial Gardens with Reverend Dr. Bruce O. Dozier, Sr., officiating and Aubrey Larkin's Lewis Brothers Funeral Home of Selma serving with excellence through professional service. At the request of the family, there will be no public viewing. The family will receive guests on Friday, October 24, 2025 from 6:00PM-7:00PM in the chapel of Aubrey Larkin's Lewis Brothers Funeral Home.
