Mr. Albert James Rose (Pete) departed this life on Saturday January 17, 2026 at Park Place Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, LLC Selma, AL. Mr. Albert James Rose (Pete) he was born to Mr. Henry & Mrs. Earlene Dawson Rose in Tyler, AL.
He confessed Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Tyler, AL but later moved his membership. He was a quiet but fun person to be around and always kept a smile. He moved away from Selma to later return after decline in health to reside in Park Place Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, LLC in 2019 and has lived there ever since. He got along with everyone to later gain the nickname of “Bud” from team members who cared for him over the years.
He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. Henry & Mrs. Earlene Dawson Rose, (3) Brothers — Samuel Rose, John Rose & Authur Rose. (4) Sisters — Mary Emma Rose Irby, Lucille Rose Robinson, Alberta Rose & Evelyn Rose Steele. Mr. Albert James Rose (Pete) never married and had no children of his own but assisted his sister Evelyn in raising her children like sisters and brothers.
He leaves to cherish his memories (1) Brother — Mr. R.C. Rose (Gloria), (4) Sisters — Ms. Mary Rose Brown of Selma, AL; Mrs. Annie Lee Rose Webster, Ms. Ethel Rose, Ms. Kathleen Rose all of Birmingham, AL. (2) Special Nieces — Mrs. Dianne Rose Steele-Fair (Gabriel), Mrs. Priscilla Rose Lewis Moore & Ms. Lisa Brown all of Selma, AL; (1) very special Nephew — Mr. Freddie Steele (Christine) of Birmingham, AL and a very special family friend Ms. Alonzia Pettway who has stayed by the family’s side with a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Funeral services have been scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 11:00 am from the Aubrey Larkin's Lewis Brothers Chapel with Minister Freddie Steele, officiating. Burial will follow at the Lorenzo Harrison Memorial Gardens with Aubrey Larkin's Lewis Brothers Funeral Home serving with excellence through professional service. Mr. Rose will lie in repose one hour prior to the funeral hour.
